IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED READING TWILIGHT, NEW MOON, AND ECLIPSE BY STEPHENIE MEYER, THE DO NOT READ THIS! If you have. then, please read.

Prologue

     JACOB BLACK

Despite that this could very well be the worst day in my life, other than losing Bella to Edward, of course, I was still forced to go to the wedding.  How am I supposed to be calm there?  What if I go off and attack people?  Maybe I should run away again.  Last time I ran away, they let me, for a while, until Sam had to go looking for me. Then I came back, and counted off the days until this horrible nightmare. Just think on the bright side, Jacob. It could be a lot worse.

Oh, but it will be a lot worse. In three days times, I will never see Bella again. Concentrate, I thought while fumbling with my tie.  It had taken me a total of 7 minutes to stop shaking and to make a loop around my neck.

“Ready yet, Jake?” called Billy from the front room, “I don’t want to be late.  We have to be there in thirty minutes.”
“You go without me, I’ll catch up later,” I shouted.  “Ha. Maybe he won’t know if I disappear during the ceremony,” I muttered.

“Sure, sure. But I’ll be watching to see if you come,” he replied as if he had read my mind.

Once I heard the front door slam and the car drive away, I grabbed clothes and ran into the trees.  From the time I reached the edge of the forest, I couldn’t help myself from shaking and turned into my other form.  It was like someone turning the dials of a radio in my head.  The pack’s voices suddenly was in my thoughts as if they were standing right next to me.

“Oh. Sucks for Jacob,” thought Embry.
“What do you think he will do?” Quil questioned.
“Will he show up?” thought Paul.
“Of course he will, you idiots,” Leah Clearwater and Sam Ulley both replied at the same time.  Of course, Sam always looks after me, ever since I was little.  But I was a bit shocked when I heard Leah say it.

I decided to tune everyone else out to not make myself go mad.
For the next couple of minutes, I just sat in the forest. Replaying my plan for today.
“Take Bella and make a run for it.  Of course I can out run a vampire,” I pondered, while propping myself against a tree, “but, I can’t outrun 6 more.  Wait! Just go and have a good time. Ugh! But how can I when the love of my life if not marrying me. Man! Why is this so hard?”

I looked at my watch, and realized, while I was having my inner monologue, fifteen minutes passed by.  Of course I won’t be late, but I probably won’t be there to congratulate her, if I really wanted to.  And Billy would kick my butt if I were not there when it starts.

I changed back to my normal self, changed, and started to run, but I knew I would never make it in time.  “Not all of us are as fast as stupid Volvo’s,” I grimaced.  I started to sprint faster as he thought of him came into my mind.  And sooner or later, I was about a half a mile away from the church.

But then, that horrid, displeasing scent filled my nostrils and I stopped in my tracks, and felt like gagging.  Vampire.  But, this was quite the unusual time to have an ambush happen.  If this was an ambush.  All I know is that the Cullens are at the wedding.  I could see it now.  Alice doing Bella’s hair, like she was a Barbie doll, and Rosalie grimacing to the view of her sister-in-law wanting to become one of them.

Emmett and Jasper would be helping Edward with whatever he needs to do.  Esme would be calming Bella.  And Carlisle would be greeting guests, because he is the only one who can stay in control.

But, as I smelled the disgusting odor, I realized something.  This is not one of the Cullen’s scent.  I’ve been around all of them, more than I should be.  No, it’s not them, so it must be…
“No, No, NO!” I exclaimed, as I ran towards the wedding, getting faster after each stride.  I knew what was happening now.  It was another vampire.  A stranger vampire.  One this close to the wedding, especially Bella, equals T-R-O-U-B-L-E, trouble.

I only got ten steps before I felt arms shoot around my neck and legs around my waist.  Why now? Why me out of the pack? Who is this person?  Every one of her enemies is gone… except…maybe…

I couldn’t think anymore.  I guess I didn’t realize it when the fangs punctured my skin.  It was sucking blood, more and more until I felt dizzy.  But the real question was, why would a vampire be trying to kill me, if they hate me and they despise my blood?

I shouldn’t really care about that right now.  I was very close to the wedding now.  It was almost in view, and I can’t let it get any closer than it is now.

“ARRRRGGGHHH,” I shouted as I used all my strength to heave the vampire off.  It flew off and hit the tree behind me.  I turned around, and crushed on its head, so he couldn’t attack me anymore.  He slumped farther onto the ground as he swept into being unconscious.

I was about the finish the it off; when I saw two white streaks whip by me… toward the wedding, to finish off what they came here for.  I knew what I had to do.  Go and save a life.  I left the unconscious vampire, and sprinted towards the lawn.  Hopefully they haven’t started yet.  If so, this will be one gory wedding…

I ran through the church doors, and all the guest’s heads turned to me like I was some murderer.  Luckily the wedding hasn’t started yet, or else that would be embarrassing.  But then I caught Billy’s bug-eyed glare.  I motioned my eyes towards the hallway by the bathrooms, which meant for him to follow me.

When we got to the hallway, Billy asked, “What is wrong?  What happened?”
I guess I didn’t look at my appearance once I left the attack scene.  My clothes were ripped and stained with blood.  I looked like a maniac.

“I have to tell you something very important …” I started until I heard someone burst through the hallway door.  Edward.  His auburn hair was a mess and all different kinds of emotions flickered in his eyes.  Worry. Anger. Despair. Sorrow.
“It’s okay.  I heard you barge in.  We all did,” Edward replied to the thought in my head. “Make sure the vampires stays outside.  We will take it by ourselves."

I turned and walked when ,I was about halfway through the hallway door.  Then, I saw who entered.

I choked out, “Uh Oh,” as the two vampires from the forest, walked down the isle to the first row of seats.

Edward was right at by shoulder whispering, “It will be all right,” as if he was comforting himself.  “New plan. We now know what to do.  Get all the guests. Make sure they leave.  I hear more of them outside.”  He turned to Billy.  “Get the whole pack and make sure they come here immediately.  Alice will see when they come in, and I will warn them.”  Then he disappeared to the back rooms.

I stood there speechless, with Billy, until I got to the first guests and ushered them out.  If they knew what we were doing, they might try to take her out now.  As quietly as possible, I ushered the second group outside, to their cars, hoping the vampires won’t hear and start attacking now.
